BRUNSWICK HVAC RESCUE / THERMOSTAT PROBLEMS
The setting’s right.
Something isn’t.
A blank display, a changing temperature setting, or a system that ignores a command can be frustrating. Here’s what to note before requesting thermostat help in Brunswick County.
Read what to check and reportSTART AT THE SCREEN
What can you see?
- A blank display
- Say whether it is always blank or comes back on sometimes. Include when it last worked and whether anything changed beforehand.
- A setting that changes by itself
- Write down the temperature you selected, what it changes to, and when the change happens. Note any schedule, hold, away, or eco label shown on the screen.
- A display that works but no system response
- Include the selected heating or cooling mode, the room temperature, and the target temperature. Say whether either mode was working before the issue began.
- An app or Wi-Fi problem
- Explain whether the wall controls still work. A connection problem and a heating or cooling problem may need different support, so describe both separately.
KEEP THE DETAILS STRAIGHT
Wall control or app?
Tell us which one.
If you use a smart thermostat, note whether the issue happens on the thermostat itself, in its phone app, or both. Include the brand and any error text if you can read them. Never include an account password, Wi-Fi password, or login code in the request.
For app account access or connectivity, the manufacturer’s support may be the appropriate starting point. If heating or cooling is not responding, describe the equipment problem as well. Trane, for example, directs heating, cooling, and thermostat-operation problems to HVAC service support.

BEFORE YOU CHANGE ANYTHING
Use the controls,
not the wiring.
Follow the operating instructions for your thermostat model. Record the current mode, temperature, and message before changing settings. You do not need to detach the thermostat, change wiring, enter installer menus, or open HVAC panels to submit a request.
Use the form below for a thermostat issue. If the main problem is no heating or no cooling, you can select that instead. The description matters more than choosing a perfect category. We’ll discuss your request and pricing by phone; the form does not book an appointment.
BEFORE YOU BOOK
A few things
to know.
Does a blank screen mean I need a new thermostat?+
The screen alone does not establish what needs replacing. Describe what you see and when it started before buying parts or arranging a replacement.
Can I send a request without knowing the brand?+
Yes. The brand is helpful if visible, but the form only needs the issue, town, timing, contact information, and consent. Add the exact screen message if there is one.
What if the thermostat works but the house won’t cool?+
Choose “No cooling” and tell us what the thermostat shows. The AC help page explains the symptom details that are useful for that request.
